The project responds to a significant shortage of these types of dwellings within the area, establishing provision of housing for low to moderate income earners within the community, enabling residents to have the assurance and security of a place to live. The design response is driven by sustainability, meeting Launch and Banyule’s high NatHERS rating ambitions.
The landscape incorporates communal outdoor social spaces including a generous outdoor deck and BBQ area adjacent community gardens, hosting informal community gathering and resident passive recreation.
High amenity outdoor communal spaces are enclosed by shade canopy planting and gardens. The planting invites resident use and engagement, including kitchen gardens and diverse flowering native species, forming a welcoming, adaptable and resilient landscape.
